Our last port, on the trip, was to the Orkeney Islands. These islands are part of Scotland.  It was my favorite stop!  The landscape was beautiful as was the light.  One of the nice things about doing cruises is that you stop at a lot of ports, and you can decide which ones you'd like to come back to.  Tom agreed that he would like to come back here for a week or two and explore the islands.

My students did their best job on this painting and I think you can see how much people have grown in such a short amount of time.  Gavin Rendall, who also teaches on the cruise ships, spent part of his youth in the Orkney Islands.  I can see why people who live there become painters.  It's magical!
